Diego for Comic-Con International as series creator/writer/illustrator Jimmy
Gownley will be releasing a set of three graphic novels for the show.
The
set will be reprinting the first 16 issue of the comic broken down into three
volumes: Amelia Rules! The Whole World’s Crazy, which collects issues
1-5; Amelia Rules! What Makes You Happy, which collects issues 6-10; and
Amelia Rules! Superheroes, which collects issues 11-16.
In
addition, Gownley has received his third nomination for an Eisner Award for Best
Title for a Young Audience. The Award, which recognizes outstanding works in the
comics industry, will be presented to the winners during the ceremony held on
Friday, July 21, 2006.
Gownley will be appearing at the Kids Love Comics
booth, which will focus on all-ages material, during the con.
“I’m
looking forward to being a part of San Diego Comicon with other cartoonists who
share an interest in creating books for kids and families to read together” said
Gownley in a recent press release. “A lot of people come to Comic-Con looking
for books that their children will love, and we’ll have lots of them
available.”
